Spectators who thronged to the National Stadium in Abuja to watch the Super Eagles training were stunned not so see Arsenal rave of the moment Alex Iwobi in training.
Iwobi who admitted to owngoalnigeria.com that he has been under pressure from the English FA to dump Nigeria for the Three Lions of England wasn’t among the list of players who trained this morning.
His absence from training stirred up whispers of he might have yielded to the pressure mounted on him by the English FA which caused panic and arguments among the watching fans.
However we gathered his absence isn’t connected to the interest from the English FA but due to a knock he received in Arsenal’s last league game against Everton.
The knock isn’t enough to make him an injury doubt ahead of the game against Egypt as his missing training is just a precaution not to aggravate the knock.
