On loan Wolfsburg forward Victor Osimhen scored his 12th league goal of the season for Charleroi but it wasn’t enough to handle them all three points as they fell 1-2 to Eupen, Owngoalnigeria.com reports.
Osimhen followed up his goal against Antwerp with a goal on the dot of half time break to draw his side level but watched on as Youssef Msakni scored what ended as the winner for Eupen seven minutes after the half time break to hand all three points to the visitors.
Ahead of his trip to Nigeria for the international break, the on loan forward has no doubt put himself in pole position to start at least one among the two games Nigeria will play against Seychelles and Egypt respectively.
Still in Belgium on loan Liverpool forward Taiwo Awoniyi shaked off doubts over his fitness with a strong showing from start to finish for Mouscron to help them to a shock 2-1 win over league champions Club Brugge.
The Nigeria U23 forward is expected to arrive Tunisia on Monday for the U23 Cup of Nations qualifiers game against Libya on Wednesday, same as Dennis Bonaventure who was introduced in as a substitute in the 46th minute by the coach of Club Brugge in the loss to Mouscron.
