English Premier League side Leicester City have not followed up their interest in signing €30m rated Nigerian forward Dennis Emmanuel Bonaventure from Belgium side Club Brugge, Owngoalnigeria.com reports.
Leicester City were among the clubs that inquired about the availability of the 22 year old in view of a move in the January transfer window but that move has now been put on hold according to sources close to the player.
” Leicester City made checks on him but they didn’t follow it up with an offer. I guess they have shelve the plan for now but Dennis will be open to joining them as playing in England still remains one of his long term dreams”, he told Owngoalnigeria.com
Club Brugge are also in no hurry to cash in on the player who has one cap for the senior national team of Nigeria as they hope to keep him until at least next summer as his market value could be more if he maintains his current form.
So far he has three goals in 12 league games this season but he caught the eyes of the rest of the world when he scored a brace at the Santiago Bernabeu against Real Madrid in a 2-2 draw in the UEFA Champions League.
