Head coach of Germany Olympic football team Horst Hrubesch says, the tactics they used in beating Nigeria 2-0 in the semi-final of the men’s football event was hinged on exploiting Nigeria’s full backs.
The duo of Stanley Amuzie and Shehu Abdullahi according to the coach, were extensively discussed during their pre match talks ahead of the game and his players properly executed all that was talked about.
“We know their full backs love to join attacks, and their wingers are mostly out wide, so we exploited the space behind to good effect” He told DFB
“My players were properly drilled on how to make use of the space behind the Nigerian backline as we found out during our pre match analysis, Nigeria are a very good side but we made them pay for giving us space to run behind.
