In a bid to fortify the attack line of Nigeria U-23s coach Samson Siasia has extended invitation to AS Roma teen striker Sadiq Umar ahead of camping for the Rio Olympics.
Owngoalnigeria.com gathered from sources close to the 19 year old that he has already applied for a visa to the USA where the team will be camped ahead of their participation in the football event of the Olympics.
Sadiq’s invitation will serve as a wake up call for Liverpool forward Taiwo Awoniyi who is reportedly close to being axed from the squad following a poor showing at the recently concluded friendly tournament in Suwon,South Korea.
Junior Ajayi from our findings is guarantee to be in the team and Siasia is also considering Watford forward Odion Ighalo as one of the overage players leaving one more slot in the team central striker position which Sadiq and Awoniyi will do battle to win.
