Kano Pillars long serving striker Gambo Mohammed has ended his association with the Nigeria Professional Football League side after penning a one year deal with Indian Premier League side East Bengal.
The 30 year old has been been with Kano Pillars for ten years and he made the Nigerian team to the 2014 FIFA Confederation Cup and also played for the B team at the African Nations Championship.
Nicknamed Gambo Ronaldo by fans of Kano Pillars, he missed out on a high profile move to Turkey three years ago and a proposed move to Vietnam collapsed two years ago.
He temporarily left Kano Pillars for Plateau United but the transfer failed to see the light of the day forcing him to return to Pillars, where he struggled to get game time last season.
The duo of Junior Lokosa and Nyima Nwagua are now the preferred options in attack for the Kano based side who are presently pushing for a top three finish in the NPFL.
