The invitation of Victor Osimhen by coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Gernot Rohr has been explained to Owngoalnigeria.com in an exclusive chat with the Franco-German coach.
Osimhen was handed a recall by Rohr after his recent goal haul for Belgium side Charleroi where he is on a season long loan from German Bundesliga outfit Wolfsburg.
His tally of five goals in eight league games and one in the only Cup game he has played this season played a role in his recall but that wasn’t the only reason for his invitation by Rohr.
Rohr deemed it fit to call the former World Youth Championship top scorer over some players who are equally in fine form for their respective clubs largely because he has been a part of his team in the pas.
“Osimhen knows how we want to play because he was with us before the World Cup qualifiers. No much game in Germany so we didn’t call him but now he is doing well in Belgium”, Rohr exclusively told Owngoalnigeria.com.
