Germany have stolen a march on Nigeria by capping Hamburg rising star Jonas Chimezie David at U19 level despite the midfielder pledging his immediate future to Nigeria in an exclusive interview with Owngoalnigeria.com.
Jonas exclusively told Owngoalnigeria.com of his desire to represent Nigeria with the Nigeria U20 team as his target but the handlers of the team were not keen on the midfielder who signed a contract extension with Hamburg in September .
A midfielder in the mould of the captain of the senior national team of Nigeria John Obi Mikel, the 18 year old played for the U19s of Germany in three friendly games against Portugal, Netherlands and Armenia respectively during the last international break.
