Praises have been handed to Barcelona defender Jordi Alba for his performance on Sunday when he faced Villarreal super teen Samuel Chukwueze who has taken the La Liga by storm this season.
Chukwueze came into the game on the back of two goals in his last two league game and Alba was given the duty of nullifying the threat of the 19 year old at Camp Nou on Sunday,
Barcelona won the game 2-0 and although Chukwueze was rated as the best player on the pitch for his team, Alba ensured he didn’t influence the game like he did in his previous game.
Alba succeeded in making him drift out of goal scoring position and also kept him out of the game in the second half with close marking which denied the newly capped Super Eagles forward space to operate.
Several pundits in their review of the game praised Alba for coping with the pace, tricks and dribbling abilities of the Nigerian.
