Newly capped Nigeria international Samuel Chukwueze won’t be dropped to the youth team of Spanish La Liga side Villarreal by new coach Luis Garcia Plaza, Owngoalnigeria.com understands.
The coach had his first training session with the team yesterday following his appointment as replacement for sacked coach Javi Calleja who gave Chukwueze his breakthrough at the club this season.
Garcia told the players ‎after yesterday’s session that he won’t be be making wholesale changes to the squad and as a former coach of the B team of the same club he is willing to work with young talented players like Chukwueze.
Chukwueze will however get to know if he is in the immediate first team plans of the coach when they take on Spartak Moscow on Thursday in the Europa League for a spot in the knock out round of the tournament.
Huesca is their next challenge in the league before the league goes on break for the Christmas and new year holidays with the coach expected to fine tune his strategy with the players upon their resumption from the break.
