Manager of Manchester City Pep Guardiola yesterday named Felix Nmecha on the bench in their final UEFA Champions League group game against Hoffenheim.
I8 year old Nmecha is the younger brother to Man City on loan forward Lukas who is at Preston North End on a season long loan, meanwhile Felix has been very impressive for the Manchester United Elite Development Squad.
Born in Germany, he has already represented two nations in Germany and later England at various youth levels and Nigeria where one of his parents hailed from approached him to switch allegiance and play for their U20s.
The Nigerian team are already through to next year Africa U20 Cup of Nations and Nmecha who plays from the midfield is among the players listed as potential squad members of the Nigerian team for the tournament.
An invitation to be part of the Nigerian team was sent to him via his representatives but at the time of filing in this report he is yet to respond to the demand to join the Flying Eagles in training next year.
