Spanish football super power Real Madrid got a perfect first leg result with a 3-0 win over fellow La Liga side Leganes in the Copa Del Rey with goals from Sergio Ramos, Lucas Vazquez and Vinicius Jnr,Owngoalnigeria.com reports.
Ramos put the recently crowned Club World Cup champions ahead with a goal from the spot, a minute before the half time break before further goals from Vazquez in the 68th minute and Vinicius Jnr in the 77th minute completed the rout.
Nigeria international defender Kenneth Omeruo who is on loan to Leganes from English Premier League side Chelsea was an unused substitute during the game at the Santiago Bernabeu as he was among the first team stars rested by coach Mauricio Pelligrino.
Omeruo has been a revelation at the back for Leganes this season with his performances provoking discussion over a permanent signing when his loan deal expires at the end of the season.
