Despite his role as an outcast under coach Maurizo Sarri, Victor Moses is one of the players Chelsea will struggle to sell according to reports exclusively gathered by Owngoalnigeria.com editorial team.
Moses is no longer a regular at the club unlike two seasons ago, when he excelled as the right wing-back back under Antonio Conte who was replaced by Sarri in the summer.
Sarri dumped Conte’s 3-5-2 style of play and Moses was among the players left in the cold by the approach of the new manager and as first reported by this portal before it was confirmed by Sarri, he is free to leave the club in January.
However he just signed a new deal last summer with a pay package many of the teams linked with the 27 year old will struggle to pay unless he accepts a pay cut which looks unlikely for now.
Furthermore, the idea of allowing him walk away for free just to get him off their books won’t work as it will involve a mutual termination of his deal which has four years to run, meaning the club will have to part with a princely sum as termination fee.
The above forms part of the reason why it’s difficult for Chelsea to offload Moses and to a large extent the uncertain future of Calum Hudson-Odoi is also one of the factor as it will leave them short in terms of options if the duo are allowed to leave without any replacement.
