On loan Liverpool forward Taiwo Awoniyi has wasted no time in making his mark at Mouscron, the club he joined last week by netting the winner in their 2-1 win over Oostende.
Awoniyi didn’t have the best of time at Gent in the first half of the season, a situation which led to the termination of his loan deal which was originally due to run till the end of the current season.
He returned to Mouscron where he had a productive loan spell last season and he came off the bench in his debut game to clinch all three points for his team with the second goal in the 69th minute, three minutes after his introduction.
While he struggled for goals and playing time at Gent, it appears his decision to join Mouscron will help him return to the same form that made Liverpool offer him an extension just before the start of this season.
