Chelsea defence sensation Fikayo Tomori has expressed his disappointment at being overlooked by the three countries he is eligible to represent in Nigeria, Canada and England during the last international break.
The defender who has worked his way into the starting lineup at Chelsea the past one month has played for England at youth level but still remains eligible to play for Nigeria at senior level as well as Canada.
Tomori was however not called up by any of the above mentioned country during the last round of international matches and that has made him not to commit his international future to England only.
The snub has made him to leave his options open as with any of the team he is no longer eligible to play youth football so any team he decide on will be his team at senior international level.
‘I’m a citizen of all three [countries] so we’ll see. I was born in Canada and lived there about seven or eight months old. My family is Nigerian, obviously I live in England. It’s nice to have that. I can’t play Under-21 football anymore so the last international break I didn’t get called up to anyone. Next one maybe we’ll see.’
Owngoalnigeria.com however gathered that he will likely make a decision on his future at the end of the season as his main priority right now is on cementing his spot in the first team of Chelsea.
