In their second game at the UEFA/CAF invitational tournament five time FIFA U17 World Youth Championship winners Nigeria defeated Guatemala 4-1 to make it two wins out of two in the tournament taking place in Turkey.
They started their tournament with a 2-0 win over the host and the boys of coach Manu Garba wasted no time in making their mark as they scored four goals in the opening twenty minutes of the game.
Just like he did in the first game against Turkey, team talisman Kunle Olusegun was once again on the scoresheet with Sulaiman Lawal, Akinkunmi Amoo and left back David Oduko putting the Nigerians ahead.
Guatemala pulled a goal back before Ibraheem Jabaar put the game to bed with the fifth goal for Nigeria to hand them a handsome 5-1 win and also a spot in the semi-final of the tournament meant to prepare them for the World Youth Championship in Brazil.
Coach of the Nigerian team Manu Garba insist his boys have improved tremendously from the team that won the WAFU B U17 Championship in Niger Republic and later finished fourth at the Africa U17 Cup of Nations in Tanzania.
