Joe Aribo – I Wish To Score In Every Game I Play For Nigeria

Rangers of Scotland midfielder Joe Aribo says his wish is to continue his goal scoring run for the senior national team of Nigeria after making it two goals in as many games with his goal against Brazil in the 1-1 draw on Sunday.

Aribo scored on his debut for Nigeria which was the 2-2 draw against Ukraine last month and the midfielder is already looking ahead to scoring again for the Nigerian team when they play in the 2020 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers next month.

Speaking to Owngoalnigeria.com about his goal record of two goals in two for Nigeria, Aribo said he hope to add more when they play Benin Republic and Lesotho respectively in the 2020 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

” It’s a nice feeling to score for your country. So nice that I wish to score in every game for Nigeria. We are a team that is still evolving and by the time we are used to each other it will be hard to beat us. My target has shifted to the upcoming games against Benin Republic and Lesotho, hopefully my goal scoring run will continue”, he told Owngoalnigeria.com.

His runs from deep into the opposition box has made the goal scoring run possible but he is quick to praise other players for picking him up with the right balls when he is in position to score.

” Alex (Iwobi) laid it on a plate for me in the game against Ukraine, then Simon (Moses) located me against Brazil. I believe it’s a team effort because the run will mean nothing if they don’t locate me with the right pass”.
