West Bromwich Albion defender Semi Ajayi says Al-Nassr forward Ahmed Musa tops the list of favourite of coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Gernot Rohr.
Ajayi made this known in an interview where he was asked about who is the favorite player of the coach. The defender said Rohr is very close to Ahmed Musa probably because of the fact that he is the captain of the team.
The position of Musa has come under threat by the emergence of players like Samuel Kalu, Samuel Chukwueze and Emmanuel Bonaventure but if Ajayi’s comment is anything to go by, Musa will still keep his spot in the team despite the fact that the attack of the team did well in his absence.
” Musa is the favorite of the coach but that is understandable because he is one of the senior players in the team and also the captain. It’s natural for the coach to be close to the captain of the team”, Ajayi said.
Since the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations Musa has been out of the team due to an injury but he is back in the squad for the upcoming AFCON 2021 Qualifiers games against Benin Republic and Lesotho respectively later this month.
He further said Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi is the most intelligent player in the team base on how well he interacts, reacts and also provide answers to questions.
” Daniel speaks very well and he most times have answers to many questions. He is the most intelligent in the team and he is very popular in the dressing room”.
