The president of French Ligue 1 side Lille says as many as 1,000 mails have been received by the club from Nigerians wanting to know the current health situation of 20 year old forward Victor Osimhen.
Osimhen was rushed to the hospital after scoring for Lille in their 3-0 League Cup win over Monaco due to issues concerning a pain in his chest which also affected the way he was breathing. Since then he has been undergoing series of test at a cardiothoracic hospital.
So far according to reports monitored by Owngoalnigeria.com editorial team, nothing serious has been detected with his heart and he will no doubt get the all clear to return back to the pitch for their final league game before the league goes on break for the Christmas season.
Lille President Gerard Lopez while speaking on RMC confirmed that Osimhen is not in any danger but will undergo another round of test later this morning and if they are positive he will return to Lille tomorrow ahead of their league game this weekend.
He also revealed that the club has been receiving mails from Nigerians from concerned individuals wanting to know about the health condition of the forward who is a senior international for Nigeria and scored three of the six goals the team scored in the two games they have played in the AFCON 2021 Qualifiers.
The president jokingly said the message could be as high as one thousand as Nigerians want to know what’s going on with the striker they believe will lead the line for them in the next couple of years following the international retirement of Odion Ighalo.
