The father of Arsenal teen ace Bukayo Saka is unhappy with the decision of his son to pick England ahead of Nigeria for his senior international football.
Saka was called up to the senior national team of England for the first time by coach Gareth Southgate making a switch of allegiance to Nigeria highly unlikely.
The 19 year old has represented England at various level was courted by Nigeria and twice got invited to be a special guest at their games but the games were later cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
According to a family source who spoke with Owngoalnigeria.com, Saka was brought up supporting the senior national team of Nigeria and his father was keen on seeing his son represent Nigeria at same level.
As a matter of fact he played a role in the delayed decision making of his son as he tried to persuade him to shun England for Nigeria but later had to bow to the wishes of his son.
On his part while explaining his decision Saka maintained that he will continue to watch and support the senior national team of Nigeria but feels England is best for him as the team is evolving for good.
“I’m really proud of my Nigerian heritage. I always watch Nigeria games and wish them all the best and support them all the way but I’ve seen the process of how England are transforming and I feel like it was right for me to choose England”, he told SkySports.
