Leicester City match winner Kelechi Iheanacho says he was desirous to see their FA Cup clash against Brighton and Hove Albion come to an end hence his mental alertness for his goal in the 3rd minute of time added on.
Iheanacho struck with a late header to seal a 1-0 win for the foxes and also passage to the next round of the FA Cup. The game looked set for extra time before his headed goal.
“It was really freezing. I couldn’t be bothered for it to go into extra time so”,he said when he was asked about the weather during the course of the FA Cup tie.
The goal takes the Nigerian to within one goal of Didier Drogba’s record of 12 FA Cup as the highest scoring African in the tournament, Iheanacho is second on 11 goals, a tally he could increase with games left to play this season.
The Ivorian achieved his feat in 29 apps over nine seasons but Nacho has made only 17 appearances in six seasons.
