Victor Osimhen had an unhappy return action for Galatasaray as they slumped to a 0-2 defeat to Genclerbirligi to crash out of the Turkish Cup in the quarter final, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.
Osimhen returned to the team for the first time in 35 days after fracturing his arm in the second leg of their UEFA Champions League round of 16 game against Liverpool.
His return was supposed to lift them past Genclerbirligi but that wasn’t the case as the league leaders exited the tournament in the quarter final.
He played the final 12 minutes of the game with his team trailing 0-1. They conceded the second goal five minutes from full time making it an unhappy return for their top striker.
However it still good news for the team because it means he will be available for the top of the table derby game against Fenerbahce on Sunday. Galatasaray are four points ahead of them in second place.
