A wrong interpretation of the ruling of the Supreme Court on the dispute about the leadership of the Nigeria Football Federation ( NFF) has led to claims by the Chris Giwa faction that he has been made president of the NFF.

The court in it’s judgement didn’t rule in favour of Chris Giwa whose camp have been saying they will take charge of the NFF on Monday, rather the court ruled that the case should be transferred back to the High Court in Jos.

Owngoalnigeria.com correspondent who read a copy of the judgment passed today also confirmed that the lawyer of the NFF Festus Keyamo has released a statement which is in line with his understanding and interpretation of the ruling.

“Nobody should cause unnecessary panic in Nigeria’s football. That’s my case. Supreme Court DID NOT NULLIFY AMAJU ‘s Election. The Supreme Court did NOT remove Amaju from office”, Keyamo wrote in a statement.

“The Supreme Court only referred the case back to the Federal High Court to be tried properly to know which of the elections held in 2014 was right. Amaju was NOT a party to the case at the Supreme Court so the court could not have removed a party from office without joining the party and hearing from the party”.
