Brazil U-23 midfielder Rafinha Alcantara has heaped praises on 21 year old Nigeria midfielder Sodiq Popoola for his showing when Nigeria shock the U-23 of Brazil 1-0.
“I’m very much happy to return back to action but not so happy we lost although we gave our best, we must give credit to Nigeria, they deserve to win” He said after the game to Globesporte.
“I was very impressed with the way the Nigerians play, the energy and tireless running particularly their number 19, he was simply unplayable” He concluded.
Popoola who was also praised by the team interim handler Fatai Amoo after his display in the game struck the bar with a shot very early into the game which was turned in by Ubong Ekpai for the game’s lone goal.
He presently plays for RFC Seraing in the second division in Belgium where he has scored four times from the 20 games he has played for the 11th placed team.
The former 36 Lions protegee started his career in France in 2013 when he turned out for the second team of French side Metz.
