The senior national team of Nigeria will play their final game in the qualifiers for the Africa Cup of Nations against Sao Tome and Principe on the 10th of September at the Godswill Akpabio stadium in Uyo, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.
Still without a substantial coach following the expiration of the contract of the coach of the team Jose Peseiro, the list of players called up for the game was put together by the technical department of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) led by former coach of the team Austine Eguavoen.
Per what we exclusively gathered, the list has at least three new players with two in the final list 23 man list of players while the others two are in the provisional list of 35 players called up for the game. We take a look at the trio that we gathered made the list with doubts still around the fourth.
Slavia Prague defender Igho Ogbu tops the list with Bayer Leverkusen new signing Victor Boniface, who scored a brace last season last weekend in the Bundesliga also in the list of 23 officially called up for the game.
Gift Orban is the third player in the list but he is in the provisional list unlike the above mentioned duo. We also gathered that Jordan Torunarigha who recently concluded a switch of allegiance from Germany to Nigeria is likely in the list, but his inclusion is unconfirmed yet.
After the weekend games in Europe, the final 23 man list will be made public but already all players in the list have been sent return ticket and told to report to Uyo for the game.
