English Premier League side Sunderland has confirmed the departure of Nigeria U20 forward Ahmed Abdullahi to Turkish side Eyuspor, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.
He spent two years on their books following his deadline day move from Belgium side Gent in the summer of 2024. He however fail to make it to their first team.
At Eyuspor he will be looking at a first top flight experience after failing to gain some at Gent before his move to Sunderland, who were then in the Championship.
An injury truncated his chances of making it to the first team during pre season last summer , and now the club has decided to part ways with him, swelling the number of Nigerian players in Turkey.
A breakouts star from the Nigeria U20 team three years ago, his career hasn’t gone as expected and he will be hoping the move to Turkey set him on the right track.
