Head coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Eric Chelle is yet to throw in the towel in his quest to get Francis Onyeka to commit his international future to Nigeria, OwnGoalNigeria.com can exclusively reveal.
Onyeka was born in Germany to parents of Nigerian descent and has already represented Germany at different youth levels, but not a senior cap yet.
On loan to newly promoted Bundesliga side SV Elversberg, the 19 year old midfielder is seen by Chelle as his top priority for the playmaker role of the team.
Over the weekend, he came of the bench to score twice in the German Cup to hand his team a 3-1 win over MSV Duisburg, and was voted as the player of the match.
” Chelle has been trying to get in contact with him but to no avail, but he is an option that he views as perfect for the playmaker role of the Super Eagles. The only thing holding back a discussion with his camp is his contact or that of his representative”, a source close to the coach revealed.
