Anglo Nigerian defender Ola Aina is reportedly set to reject a new contract proposal from Chelsea as he hopes to join Arsenal.
Comfortable as a full back or central defender 19 year old Aina is being eyed by Arsenal, who could be primed to capitalise on Aina’s frustration at not been given a shot at the first team at Chelsea.
He has refused to sign a new deal a situation which has angered Chelsea with the club demoting him from their first team to the U-21s.
Tipped as the next John Terry at Chelsea his current deal with the club runs out in the summer and he could leave for free in the summer although Arsenal might try to get him before the end of the winter transfer window.
Arsenal sees Aina as an ideal long term replacement for Mathieu Debuchy who is set to quit the gunners.
