The Super Eagles of Nigeria in the latest FIFA rankings have move up a spot in the latest edition released by football governing body FIFA for the month of February.
Nigeria are now placed 63rd in the world one step higher than last month ranking but still remained outside the top 10 ranked team in Africa as they are 11th on the continent.
Nigeria’s opponent in the all important back to back AFCON 2017 clash, Egypt are however placed 53rd on the global ranking but 7th in Africa despite their poor record of failing to qualify for the cup of nations since 2010.
However the shock of the rankings as it concerns African nations is Cape Verde who are now officially the number one team in Africa ahead of Ivory Coast, the cup of nations holders.
