Plateau United coach Zachary Baraje has taken a swipe at his employers for what he terms their lack of support in his bid to recruit players that will help boost his team chances of doing well this season.
Baraje took over at the newly promoted side before the start of the season after leading Akwa United to lifting the Nigeria Federation cup but so far has found it almost impossible to transform Plateau United.
The veteran coach wasn’t given fresh terms by Akwa United at the start of the season after he ranted about the poor quality of their players in respect to their campaign in the CAF Confederations cup.
He left and true to his warnings, Akwa United failed to go past the first round of knockout games despite winning 1-0 away to Vita Mokoanda of Congo they crashed out 5-3 on penalties after both teams were tied on a 1-1 aggregate score after the second leg.
Plateau United last night fell 2-0 to Baraje’s former team Akwa United and the coach speaking to owngoalnigeria.com after the game expressed his unhappiness with the quality of his players in comparism to that of Akwa United.
“It’s clear to see from the game that Akwa United have got more matured players within their ranks than we have, that is the problem when you have a management that is not doing what they ought to” He said.
“It’s easy for them to place demands on the players and technical crew but they on their part have to do what is right for us to succeed, so far we not seeing that and if that doesn’t happy, we’ll see if I will remain with the team”.
