Carl Ikeme: Had little to do for large spell of the game, misjudged a corner kick that almost created an opening for Egypt but recovered to salvage the situation still deserves part of the blame for Egypt’s equaliser due to his poor decision to put the ball out in his own half for fair play which wasn’t respected by the visitors who pounced and score…. 7/10
Shehu Abdullahi: Played Mohammed Salah on for Egypt’s equaliser bar that poor decision he was solid though not spectacular….6/10
Stanley Amuzie: A debutant with the heart of a lion, a modern day full back, full of running and very good on the ball with this performance he could be Nigeria’s long term solution to the left back role….7.5/10
Godfrey Obaboana: Very slow off the blocks,scared to go into tackles, it was his needless fall that lead to Ikeme putting the ball out for fair play which the Egyptians failed to respect that lead to their goal, a sub par performance….4.5/10
Efe Ambrose: Guilty of needlessly giving the ball away on several occasion and also came up with some slack marking which almost proved costly but was still the only defender willing to force something, he also kept his man quiet….5.5/10
Mikel Obi: The captain who lead like one on the pitch was involved in so many duels with Egypt’s El-Nenny winning most and overall had a game to remember with Ogenekaro Etebo providing the pace he lacks in the middle….7/10
Ogenekaro Etebo: A debutant? Didn’t play like one, played like a seasoned professional and rightly justified the coach decision to start him, scored the first goal of the game and did a lot of defensive duties for the team, a star in the making….8.5/10
Ahmed Musa: Eager to use his pace against the Egyptian backline but was devoid of services from his midfielders was getting into the game before he got substituted….5.5/10
Moses Simon: Direct,daring and trickish, he was a thorn in the flesh of the Egyptian backline but needs to learn how to get into goalscoring position and his final ball into the opponent’s box still needs work….6.5/10
Kelechi Iheanacho: He was the weak link in the first half for Nigeria but still got Nigeria’s best chance of the half, poor movement and indecision made him the first to be substituted although it was his well placed effort that came off the bar that was turned in by Etebo….6/10
Odion Ighalo: Isolated upfront without service yet battled with the Egyptian back four when the ball is there to be won got into the game more in the second half when Aminu Umar was introduced….6.5/10

Aminu Umar: Came on for his senior national team debut and injected pace and urgency into Nigeria’s attack, a willing runner but guilty of passing when a shot would have been better….5/10
Victor Moses: Denied a goal by a goal line clearance after rounding the goalkepper, was busy upon his introduction with mazy runs and tricks that saw him get past the Egyptians at will but failed to provide cover for his full back….5.5/10
Alex Iwobi: Had one genuine moment of not when he played in Victor Moses with an Ozil liked blind pass bar that moment had no real impact on the game….4/10
