The poster boy of Nigeria AFCON 2016 team Chisom Chikatara missed out on a spot in Nigeria’s ill fated back to back AFCON 2017 qualifiers game against Egypt due to his poor showing in training.
Chikatara according to a coach of the team who spoke to Owngoalnigeria.com on the condition of anonymity said the 22 year old was feeling like a superstar in training who felt like he needed to less to get into the team.
“Chikatara wasn’t pulling his weight during training, limped off too often and generally wasn’t committed, he left us with no chance but to drop him, am afraid if so early into his career he is beginning to exhibit such” He told Owngoalnigeria.com.
Already he is set to join Morocco’s league leaders Wydad Casablanca when registration reopens in the league in the summer and presently he has three goals for his Nigeria league side Abia Warriors.
