Raja Casablanca of Morocco have announced on their official website the transfer of Nigeria international Babatunde Michael to Qatar’s second division side Qatari club for a fee in excess of $1.1 million.
Club president Muhammad Boudrika confirmed the Nigerian was allowed to leave the club due to the player’s desire to seal the big money move and a clause in his deal which allows him to terminate his contract in the event of a bid from a team outside Morocco within a particular distance.
Babatunde Michael according to the club president of Raja Casablanca will receive a sign on fee of $2.1 million from the second division base team in Qatar in a deal reportedly worth three years.
He also confirmed the club will receive the agreed transfer fee for the 23 year old Nigerian on the 19th of June, same day the club will be holding their general assembly.
Presently on international duty with the Super Eagles of Nigeria in far away Luxembourg, he joined Raja Casablanca on the 13th of December 2015 from Ukraine’s Dnipropetrovsk on a free transfer after terminating his contract due to unpaid wages.
