Obafemi Martins had a memorable cup debut for Shanghai Shenhua by scoring two well taken brace to lift them to a 4-0 win over Tianjin Quanjian.
31 year old Martins moved to Shanghai Shenhua in February from MLS side Seattle Sounders where he has spent the last three seasons but after a slow start to life in China he has adapted to the demands of the league.
He has three goals in the league, two from his last four games and his cup brace has now taken his tally to 5 goals in his last five games.
Martins brace was followed by goals from Demba Ba and Cao Yunding as the big spending Chinese side stroll to a routine cup win sealing their passage to the next round of the Chinese Cup.
