Tottenham Hotspur midfield hard man Victor Wanyama says out of favour Celtic defender Efe Ambrose is one of the finest defender he has played with during his career.
The pair were very close friends during their time at Celtic but while Wanyama left for Southampton and later Tottenham Hotspur, Ambrose remained at Celtic but has fallen down the pecking order in recent times.
Ambrose is yet to play a league game since turning down a deadline day move to Standard Liege of Belgium, prior to the failed move his start to life under manager Brendan Rodgers has been everything but smooth.
Linked with a possible trial with English Championship side Wolverhampton Wanderers, Wanyama rates Ambrose as one of the finest he has played with in his career.
” I will say Efe Ambrose is not just a nice guy off the pitch but a very solid man on the pitch as well, he is one of the finest defenders I have played with in my career so far”, he said in an interview on a Spurs channel picked up by Owngoalnigeria.com.
