Highly rated former Nigeria youth international Ifeanyi Matthew could join the bandwagon of Nigerian players moving to Belgium with Anderlecht locked in talks over him.
The Belgium side are in the market for a replacement for Youri Tielemans who left the club for Monaco at the start of the summer transfer window.
Matthew was recommended to the club, and after studying clips of his games for Norwegian side Lillestrom, the club have tabled an offer according to a source close to the player’s agent.
” Anderlecht are presently the front runners for his signature although there are other teams interested in him. I think Club Brugge as well but am not sure “, he told Owngoalnigeria.com.
” Matthew has done well for Lillestrom, so it’s not a surprise that he is set for such a move after a year in Norway. We wait still but talks are progressing nicely”.
