A top member of the Technical Committee of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) says it’s malicious and wicked for any one to suggest the committee questioned coach Gernot Rohr selection for the South Africa game during their meeting yesterday.
Speaking to Owngoalnigeria.com Garba Lawal who took part in the meeting said at no point did the issue of players selection came up during their meeting with the Super Eagles coach.
” It’s unfortunate some people will go to any length to undermine our work and relationship with coach Gernot Rohr. During our meeting yesterday no one, I repeat no one questioned his tactics, players invitation or selection”, he told Owngoalnigeria.com.
” We at the Technical Committee are consumate professionals and not at anytime did we ask such questions. It’s malicious and wicked for anybody to suggest we did a thing like that, and even reported it”.
A backroom staff of the coach also confirmed the Lawal’s statement and termed the reports as the figment of the imagination of the writer who apparently doesn’t know how the technical committee works with the Franco-German coach of the team.
