French Ligue 1 side Nantes have released an unofficial statement on the rumours surrounding the health condition of Nigerian defender Chidozie Awaziem .
Reports in France and Nigeria claimed the 20 year old defender who joined the team from Portuguese side FC Porto has issues regarding his breath and it was spotted during his medicals with the team.
The General Manger of Nantes Franck Kita said there’s no truth in the report insisting that the defender is physically fit for competitive games.
” He will definitely play for us (Nantes), he played at Porto. There is no need to have any doubt about it. He is fit for competitive games”, the General Manager said.
Already he has won the heart of the coach of the team Claudio Ranieri who described the Nigerian as a very smart footballer who will no doubt help the team next season.
