President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Amaju Pinnick says issues outside football abilities is part of the reason why Nigerian forward Ahmed Musa is not getting games at Leicester City.
Musa has struggled to hit the form that made Leicester City splash big to sign him from Russian side CSKA Moscow last summer for a fee in the region of £16m.
Since the axing of Claudio Ranieri the coach who bought him, new manager Craig Shakespeare has sparingly used the Nigerian, and only recently he sat out their opening Premier League clash against Arsenal.
However Pinnick insist he still remains one of the best players at the club, and he will sort to know from the coach why the 24 year old is not getting games at the club.
“Two days ago I called Ahmed Musa, we had a talk for like 30 minutes, of course I understand the politics going on in his game in his team. He is one of the best players in that team but it’s just politics, and that’s why he’s not playing,” the CAF Executive Committee member said in Lagos on Wednesday.
“In the shortest possible time, I will meet his coach to find out why he is not (playing). To me, he is one of the best players, so we do that for all our players.”
