Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo who was recently crowned the best player in the world at the FIFA Best Awards in London on Monday says he will love to face Nigeria at the World Cup in Russia next year.
Ronaldo made it known during a chat with the delegation of Rivers state who were at the Santiago Bernabeu to hold a meeting with the La-Liga Giants over setting up an academy in the state.
” We had the opportunity of meeting with Ronaldo and he also had a great pleasure meeting us. He was happy. He expressed himself saying Nigeria is a great football nation he will want to play against.
” He made it known that he knew we were the first African nation to qualify for the 2018 World Cup m he said he will be loking forward to meet Nigeria in Russia “, a member of the Rivers delegation to the Bernabeu Adokiye Amiesimaka revealed in an interview with Brila FM monitored by Owngoalnigeria.com.
There are chances of Ronaldo’s wish coming true as Nigeria could be drawn against Portugal when the draws for the World Cup takes place in December, as both teams are in different pots for the draws.
