Despite the determination of newly appointed coach of Torino Walter Mazzari to hang onto on loan Roma forward Sadiq Umar, Roma are still pushing the 20 year old to agree a loan move to Serie B side Parma.
Sadiq has failed to nail a permanent spot in the Torino line up despite impressing in the three Serie A games he has played so far, and his lack of game time has made his parent club Roma initiate moves to terminate his loan deal with Torino.
However while Roma want the lanky forward to join 7th placed Serie B side Parma, Umar wants a move away from Italy to another European country according to Kaduna based radio personality Mohammed Suleiman , who is close to the Nigeria Rio 2016 Olympic star.
” Sadiq is keen on a move away from Italy, but Roma want him to remain in Italy and play in the Serie B for Parma while he wants to leave Italy entirely to another European country”, Mohammed popularly called Mowiz revealed on his sports programme on Liberty Radio 91.7 Fm.
” He is still highly valued by Roma, hence their decision for him to remain in Italy where he can be easily monitored and of course he is sure to get games at Parma, which will aid his development but he has other ideas”.
Last season while on loan at Bologna injuries and fitness issues restricted him to just seven league appearance with no goal to his name, as opposed to his breakthrough season two years ago when he scored twice from just six league games.
He represented Nigeria at the Rio 2016 Olympics and ended as the top scorer for Nigeria with four goals as they cruise to a bronze medal finish at the games held in Brazil.
