Former Nigeria youth international striker Junior Ajayi has been handed a call up to the senior national team of Nigeria ahead of their upcoming friendly games against Poland and Serbia.
A close source to coach Gernot Rohr confirmed to Owngoalnigeria.com, that the 24 year old who was nominated in the CAF Best XI got his invitation last week via his club Al-Ahly.
” Ajayi is in the squad for the games against Poland and later Serbia. He got his letter last week through his club Al-Ahly”, a source close to Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr revealed to Owngoalnigeria.com.
” The idea is to give players who are doing well a chance to prove themselves. Ajayi hasn’t done badly since moving to Al-Ahly and the call up is a reward for his consistent display for Africa’s most decorated team in history “.
