22 year old Nigerian defender Junior Udeme Pius has started the next chapter of his career following his temporary transfer to Pacos de Ferreira after a nightmarish time at Tondela last season.
His move to Tondela was supposed to launch him to stardom but the dream move turned out to be a nightmare as he failed to fully settle at the club owing to various issues.
The former Porto B Defender arrived Pacos de Ferreira two days back for training and he is hoping to earn a spot in their squad for their league opener against Sporting Braga B this weekend.
Last season he represented Tondela in the top division in three games before injury brought his season to an end because even when he recovered from the surgery to cure the injury, he still wasn’t considered by the coaches.
An internal issue with the club led to his suspension but officials of his new team Pacos de Ferreira are confident that he is the man to shore up their defence as they eye an immediate return to the Portuguese top flight.
