Former Nigeria U17 and 20 central defender Ejike Ikwu was among the numerous Nigerian players who moved during the recently concluded summer transfer window in Europe following his under the radar move to Recreativo de Huelva.
The 19 year old joined the former La Liga side who are now campaigning in the fourth division of Spanish football on loan from Enugu based Internazionale Football Club.
Although he played as a central defender for Nigeria at youth level he was captured as a new signing by the club on their official website as a full back and he will start his stint at the club from the youth team.
Ikwu was ever present in the heart of Nigeria’s defence alongside Lukman Zakari as the Nigeria U17 team of 2015 romped to the World Youth Championship title in style and two years later he was a part of the U20 team that failed to qualify for the Africa Youth Championship.
