Former Nigeria U20 shot stopper Sebastian Osigwe appears to have lost his starting spot at Swiss second division side SC Kriens, Owngoalnigeria.com reports.

Coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Gernot Rohr mentioned the 24 year old as part of the players he is planning to hand a call up when preparations for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations begins.

“Uzoho (Francis) is our number one keeper and we have Ezenwa and Akpeyi but we are monitoring more keepers,” he said. “We are monitoring the keeper in Switzerland (Osigwe) and some other young keepers.” He added, “Uzoho is a good young keeper and people have said a lot of positive things about him. “I’m happy that he has left Deportivo La Coruna for Elche”, Rohr said in August.

However the shot stopper who has kept goal in 11 league games for newly promoted second division side Kriens has kept goal just once in the last six games of his club according to Owngoalnigeria.com checks.

The last time Osigwe kept goal was in the 3-3 draw against Chiasso and that came after sitting on the bench for two consecutive games despite keeping goal twice upon his return from an unspecified injury.

Since then he has been on the bench in the corresponding games against FC Winterthur and FC Schaffhausen ‎and last week he wasn’t named in the team for the game against Aarau which his team lost 1-2.
