Nigeria U20 target Tom Dele-Bashiru is few details away from joining Italian Serie A side Atalanta with his contract at Manchester City set to run out in six months time, Owngoalnigeria.com understands.
Dele-Bashiru joined Man City at the age of six but since his debut for the first team last season in the Carabao Cup he is yet to get games this season with many citing his contract stand off as part of the reasons why he hasn’t been involved with the first team.
City were not able to match his financial demands and coupled with the fact that he is not viewed as one who has a future at the club, the club has decided to let him leave the club for the Serie A side.
Born in England to Nigerian parents, the 19 year old has already pledged his international future to Nigeria and club commitments stopped him from honouring a call up to be part of the team for the WAFU Championship played last month.
