Emeka Obasi the Nigerian agent involved in the transfer of Jadon Sancho from Manchester City to Borussia Dortmund has been cleared by the British FA after an investigation over the circumstances surrounding the transfer.

The Football Association said they found no evidence that Manchester City made an illegal payment to the agent of their former player Jadon Sancho as alleged by German outfit Der Spiegel earlier this year.

Der Spiegel claimed Obasi was paid an irregular payment of £200,000 by Man City when Sancho joined the club from Watford in 2014. Sancho was 14 at that time and FA rule in England forbids players of that age to be represented by agent. They can only have representative at the age of 16.

The same publication claimed City paid the said amount to Obasi in the mould of a scout which he isn’t but upon investigation the FA found out that the allegations are not true and Obasi has been cleared to resume his duty as agent.

Sancho has since gone on to build a very rich career in Germany with Borussia Dortmund and he is now a senior international player with England. Reports suggest he could leave the German side for a huge fee in the next transfer window though many are saying it will likely be in the summer of 2020.
