The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has picked former Nigeria U17, U20 coach Emmanuel Amunike as the new coach of the senior national team of Nigeria, OwnGoalNigeria.com can exclusively reveal.
Yesterday, the technical committee screened the list of candidates for the job and submitted it recommendation by picking three coaches for the board of the NFF to decide.
The list which had three foreign coaches have been shelved by the NFF after coming under huge pressure from people in high places like we exclusively reported yesterday.
President of the NFF Ibrahim Musa Gusau is said to have caved in to pressure and will next week officially announce Amunike as the new coach, he was keen on a foreign coach before the latest twist of events.
We gathered Finidi George will stay on as part of this assistants with Michael Nsien also prime for a role in the technical set up. Emeka Amadi will likely get a shout for the role of the goalkeeper’s coach.
