The decision by FIFA to approve the upcoming Unity Cup in London means foreign based players from all participating teams are now free to take part when it begins, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.
Initially the tournament wasn’t approved by FIFA and wouldn’t have been used to any ranking purposes because it falls outside of the window for international dates approved for games involving national teams.
Nigeria, Trinidad and Tobago, Jamaica and Ghana will take part in the tournament with the Super Eagles playing their West African rival on the 28th of May before rounding up their participation with a game against Jamaica three days later.
FIFA’s approval of the tournaments which will take place at the Brentford stadium means the below names , who were initially in doubt of playing for Nigeria owing to issues that could arise with their clubs in the event of any injury can now take part.
Although the LaLiga will still be on, the trio of Sadiq Umar, Chrisantus Uche and Chidera Ejuke are expected to be included in the squad as their respective teams are not playing for anything competitive anymore.
