The senior national team of Nigeria will take on Algeria in the quarter final of the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.
Yesterday Nigeria sealed a spot in the quarter final with a resounding 4-0 win over Mozambique, but had to wait till today to know their next opponent between Algeria and DR Congo.
Alegria nicked the tie with a late goal in the final minute of extra time after both teams were locked in 0-0 after regulation time. Their reward is a clash against the Super Eagles.
It will be a repeat of the 2019 AFCON semi final, which Algeria won with a late goal from Riyad Mahrez. The game will be played in the Moroccan city of Marrakech on Saturday by 5pm Nigerian time.
